The new year is knocking on our doors. A year which is full of opportunity, promise, and hope. While no one knows what 2019 will bring, there is one truth we can’t escape: Age. We’re all going to grow older than we are currently. Aging is a natural process of life, and it’s up to us to make the most of it. To me, by making most of my life means that I need to be active, feeling healthy from within and outside too and having an overall sense of feeling my best. No matter what your age is, you can feel your best, too!

It improves the functionality of entire vaginal, vulva!, periurethral area increasing lubrication, tone and strength of area.

Procedure

This procedure is similar to vaginal ultrasound, a specially designed hygienic single use probe is inserted in vagina and laser pulses are delivered at Ian distance all around. If vulva or outside skin is paining (vulvodynia), or whitening of outer skin is desired, or shortening of vulva! lips is needed then laser probes are directed externally.

It has been noted that with first session leakage is controlled by 60-70% and satisfaction rate reached above 80-90% after three OPD based sessions of 10 minutes each.

Embrace intimacy! Again

13th December, 2018

The actual act of childbirth can be rather painful, and yet, it's a dream come true for every woman who goes through it. However, childbirth leads to certain changes in the woman's body that may not be desirable. Often, these changes worsen with age and include concerns pertaining to intimacy between the couple.

Not only are such concerns embarrassing but also difficult to discuss and often disrupt normal, happy life.

Furthermore, hormonal changes bring along a roller-coaster ride, and as their levels fall with age, the woman starts experiencing

• Reduced Sex Drive • Marital Discord • Low self-esteem • Mood Swings

As women's life expectancy is increasing, almost half her life is spent in 'perimenopause' and 'menopause' stages. She continues to be socially active, independent and strives to retain her youthfulness. However, issues related to sexual intimacy and concerns involving her womanhood require a frank discussion with an expert. Medical technology has rapidly evolved to offer simple and quick solutions to many such problems that she is afraid to discuss.

Falling oestrogen levels in the body lead to lack of'Collagen, a key protein in the structure of the urethra and the vagina. Usually women are recommended Kegel's exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor. Lubricants and oestrogen creams help with vaginal dryness. In most cases, this is not enough to address the root cause of the problem.

Imagine

A woman in her mid-forties at a board meeting, coughs, sneezes or laughs while making a presentation and unintentionally leaks urine. This can be distressing and embarrassing and is a very common concern which is rarely discussed with the doctor.

A woman experiences sexual dissatisfaction due to a loose vagina, caused by childbirth or ageing, and this has a significant impact on the couple's life in general.

A young cancer survivor or a 42 year old with premature menopause experiences difficulties due to extreme vaginal dryness which leads to painful intercourse and frequent infections.

All these concerns can now be safely addressed with Laser treatment. FemiLiftTM is USFDA approved gold standard CO, technology which treats vaginal dryness, itching, laxity and urinary leakage. A Novel Laser Treatment For Bladder Control

11th December, 2018
Loss of bladder control or urinary incontinence is a common problem in women.

  • - What actually causes this incontinence?

  • - What are different types of incontinence?

  • - Who are at risk of developing this problem?

  • - What treatment options we have for this?

Checkout what Dr. Lalitha K., a senior consultant at Dr. Lalitha's Urogynecology Centre, Hyderabad has to say:

About Doctor Lalitha K. :

Bladder Control Laser Treatment in India
  • Dr. Lalitha K. is the only lady Urologist and Urogynaecologist in Hyderabad. A recipient of 10 gold medals in MBBS.
  • Dr. Lalitha is one of the first few Urogynaecologists in India to perform TVT /TVTO for Stress Urinary Incontinence and has conducted several operative workshops for TVT procedure.

Q: What is Urinary Incontinence?

A: Loss of control over bladder function leading to urinary leakage without voluntary control in women.

Q: How common is this problem?

A: Half of the women over 50 years of age suffer from this problem, which means millions of women all over the world suffer from urinary incontinence. But very few women seek medical advice because of the stigma or embarrassment.

Q: What are different types of Incontinence?

  • A:

    - Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI)
It is leakage of urine in women upon coughing, sneezing, laughing or bending.

  • - Urge Incontinence
A sudden urge to pass urine followed by leakage before reaching the restroom.

  • - Mixed Incontinence
Few women have both Stress and Urge Incontinence together.

Q: What Q: Who are at risk?

A: Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) is common in multiparous women who had difficult / forceps vaginal deliveries and is caused by trauma to pelvic muscles during child birth. After menopause, this may become more severe due to further weakening of tissues. Urge Incontinence (UUI) may be due to infections, neurological disorders or most commonly idiopathic.

Q: What are the treatment options?

A: UUI most often can be managed medically, rarely we may have to inject botox into the bladder.

SUI in mild forms may be relieved with kegel's exercises but moderate to severe forms of SUI require surgical correction, usually TVT or TOT.

Q: Is there any non-surgical treatment for SUI?

A: SUI can be successfully treated with Fractional CO, Laser (FemiLift) which is a non-surgical mode of treatment.

Q: What are the advantages of FemiLift?

  • - No relief with Kegel's
  • - Contraindication for surgery
  • - Patient not willing for surgery

"Recently I have used FemiLift for a woman with SUI on anticoagulants, which can cause excessive bleeding during surgery if not stopped preoperatively. I could use FemiLift safely without any problem with good relief' Dr. Lalitha. K.

Stop Suffering In Silence

3rd December, 2018

Let's talk about Urinary Incontinence

Urinary Incontinence (UI) means: Any involuntary or unwanted loss or leakage of urine. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Urinary Incontinence is a widespread global disease and one of the medical taboos for many people. UI affects around one in three women worldwide.

Urinary Incontinence affects 17-45% of women worldwide and Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) is responsible for 48% of all cases.

It is common for other symptoms to occur along with Urinary Incontinence - having a strong urge to urinate, urinating more often than what is usual, waking from sleep to urinate, painful urination, urine leakage while asleep.
Laser Vaginal Tightening Treatment India

Urinary Incontinence in women can be divided into three main types:

1. Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) is urine leakage while coughing, laughing, or sneezing. Leaks can also happen when a woman walks, runs, or exercises. SUI is considered a social stigma. SUI can have a profound impact on women's quality of life as the condition can result in embarrassment, psychological distress, social isolation and loneliness. Only 27% of women with SUI seek help, as they perceive this problem as an occurrence of natural aging process. Factors that increase a woman's risk of developing SUI, or make the condition worse: genetic & hormonal factors, pregnancy, lifestyle factors e.g. aging, obesity, lung disease and smoking (leading to increased coughing), urinary tract infections, neurological diseases, pelvic floor disorders such as vaginal or uterine prolapse, neurological and muscular abnormalities.

2. Urge Urinary Incontinence (UUI) is a sudden strong urge to urinate that is hard to stop. Women with this type of urinary incontinence may leak urine on way to the bathroom too.

3. Mixed incontinence combines symptoms of both SUI and Urge Urinary Incontinence (UUI).

Treatment options for Urinary Incontinence (UI)

Life style modification, kegel's exercises are preventive measures. For Urge Incontinence (UUI) treatment of choice is medical management where as in SUI medicines are not effective. In early cases of SUI (grade I & II) non surgical options -LASER is one of the most preferred choice. Studies in India and abroad have proved its role in SUI.

In late cases of SUI (grade III & IV) surgical management is required. For surgeries highly skilled surgeons are required and that too is not free of complications.

The latest innovative solution, vaginal laser is a simple answer. The laser strengthens, tightens, firms and lifts the vaginal wall, thus increasing the support of the bladder and significantly reducing stress incontinence.

The key advantages of this laser treatment are:

Walk-in, walk-out procedure. Typically, three treatments are needed over the course of 12 weeks to deliver the best results
  • - No anesthesia needed
  • - Non-invasive
  • - Virtually painless
  • - Recovery is extremely quick

Once called an unnecessary fashion fad is now acquiring recognition as a revolution in the intimate well-being of women all over the world.
